I've finished my second piece! Yay! I finished it last night and I let it dry during the night. I didn't have time to take a picture of it this morning but pictures are coming soon. The background of the painting is a light blue. In the middle of the painting are swirls that drip down paint towards the bottom and top. I can't wait to show you!

I recently have not worked on my second piece:( I am making a promise to myself that I will this week. Honestly I've had a few distractions. Last weekend, I had to go to Andalusia for Easter, and it was chaotic. This week I've had cheer clinic Tuesday and Wednesday. Yesterday I had mock tryouts for cheer, and today I have the actual cheer tryouts. I am so nervous. Wish me luck!

Recently I've been working on my second piece of abstract art. I'm aiming to do this piece totally different from the first piece I did. I have painted the background of the canvas a soft blue with acrylic paint. I plan to make further splotches of color towards the center of the canvas. I will be working on this piece some this weekend and some next week. Can't wait to see how it turns out!

I started working on my first abstract piece on Wednesday. I am using oil pastel on canvas. The piece consists of a combination of different colors. All of the colors in the piece swirl around a fixed point in the center. I've finished about half of this first piece. I plan to work on it more this weekend and hopefully finish it.

I chose to do abstract art because I love creating art! I have been taking art lessons with Mrs. Smith for two years now and hopefully next year too. The only problem I have when painting is that my hand starts cramping up. I have to stop painting for a while to let my hand rest so I can paint again. I am going to start painting next week and get the supplies this weekend.
Project Proposal
2.12.16
Katy Chandler
Proposal: Abstract Art
I will be creating abstract art pieces during my 20% time.
Needs and Opportunities
I will need paint and canvases in order to complete this project.
I am going to set up a Google account for my blog. I have a camera that I can
take pictures of the paintings with. I will upload these photos to my blog.
Audience / Clients / Users
The audience I will be presenting to is my classmates. I hope to
see interests in art from them as I present my pieces to them.
Mentors
My mom will need to take me to the store to get canvases and
paint. She already said she would be happy to do that. My art teacher might be
willing to help if I need it. I know she would gladly let me use any art
supplies. This project will not need a lot of assistance.
Timeline
What is your monthly timeline for this project. I want to see a
list of deliverables with deadlines. You may find that the timeline needs
adjustment during the course of the year, which may be fine. Check in with me
if that’s the case.

Product
I will be showing three different abstract pieces of art. They
will all be on big canvases.
Reality Check
I will need to buy art supplies. I will be using paint,
watercolor, oil pastel, etc. I will need to manage my time wisely because I am
busy during the week.
Conclusion
I am super excited about this project! I love to paint, draw, and
color. You should approve this project because I think it will be interesting
for my classmates to see different art pieces. I look forward to working on
this project!
